(image from flickr, found here)It doesn’t get much better than a hot cup of ginger tea - especially now that the weather is getting colder. Ginger is known to calm the stomach and increase circulation. I’ve found it’s also great for a sore throat. I like to drink a cup with my breakfast or at night to unwind before bedtime.
Here’s how to brew up a batch:
Peel and thinly slice a 2 inch chunk of ginger root
Throw ginger root in a pan with a quart or so of water
Bring water to a boil
Once water comes to a boil, take pan off heat and cover with lid
Let ginger root steep in water for 10-15 minutes
Strain out the ginger root
Enjoy with honey, or not depending on taste.
