What a way to start off the week.

Everything is moving slow this morning. I woke up at the usual time but took 20 minutes longer than normal to get ready for work. Must have been that grapefruit that I just had to carefully segment, eat, and then squeeze for all the extra juice. Eating grapefruits takes forever. Since I was running late, Jared was kind enough to drive me into the city. Unluckily for us, there was a water main break and all of the streets surrounding my work are closed. Jared let me jump out of the car a few blocks from work – and he is now probably still stuck in traffic as I type. I feel so bad that he is stuck in a traffic jam because of me. Most of DC probably has a case of the Monday’s right now. I'm pretty sure that this city is going to be a major cluster for the next week and a half. Jared and I are probably going to skip town over inauguration. I think we would get big time cabin fever otherwise, since roads are supposed to be closed to drivers and pedestrians, metro is supposed to be a joke, and millions of people will be flooding the mall. It will either be hunker down or get out of town.
On a brighter note, we had a great weekend. We ate at Jetties, our favorite sandwich shop in Georgetown. We also visited the gorgeous National Cathedral. I’ve never seen such beautiful stained glass in my life. Then, we went to get some of the best gelato and churros ever – also in Georgetown. Here are some photos of our epicurean and cultural delights:

Great Pictures. I'm sure your assesment is right about things being a cluster.
