Resolutions, baby they come and go.

Since it’s a New Year and all, I thought I should make a few resolutions for 2009. But after talking to Jared on the way home from church Sunday, I think I might re-strategize this year. He told me that he made a suggestion to his youth Sunday school class to make more realistic weekly goals instead of resolutions that last for the entire year. Let’s admit it, resolutions are hard to keep. Thinking about an entire year of giving up soda, going to the gym five days a week, drinking three quarts of water a day, always being nice, being organized, etc… can be so daunting. It seems that February almost always ends in dropped resolutions and hooking back up with old habits. So this year, my sole resolution is to think up a few goals to accomplish each week – no year long commitments for me. It’s all about progress, slow and steady wins the race. My goals this week:
write some thank you notes
no more procrastinating at work
fill my new cupcake caddy with lemon cupcakes
practice stretching and deep breathing
enjoy each moment

Happy New Year - 2009 is going to be great, I can just feel it!

Sounds like a great plan. Your dad asked me what my resolutions were and I said I wasn't going to make any because it's pretty much a waste of time. I pointed out the list he put on the bathroom wall a year ago and asked him how many of them he accomplished. Pretty much none. I give him props for even making a list.
