DC in bloom.

The sun finally broke through the fog and clouds yesterday afternoon. It was the perfect opportunity to take a Sunday stroll around the tidal basin. The cherry blossoms are coming out in full force. Walking around, under the pale pink blooms, makes me think about all of the things I will miss about DC. I wish I could steal little pieces of this city and take them with me wherever I go. I suppose that capturing all of those pieces in photographs is the best I can do. Being out here isn’t always easy, but I would do it all over again without hesitation. We’ve had some magical moments here:
Watching fireworks on the steps of Jefferson Monument on the 4th of July.
Sitting on the steps of the Lincoln Monument, just like in the movies.
Watching the planes fly right overhead at gravely point.
Taking long walks along the Potomac.
Crashing on my rollerblades in Old Town, Alexandria.
Calling the fire department at 3am because an old man fell and lost his puppy right outside our apartment window.
Eating ice cream masterpieces at Dairy Godmother’s.
Weekend trips to Virginia Beach and New York City.
Getting articles published in Pharmacy Times and Pharmacy Today.
Sleeping with ice packs on our bellies because it was so hot in our old apartment.
Watching the fireflies twinkle on humid summer nights.
Almost breaking my nose while trying to play a joke on Jared.
Getting all dressed up and going to the horse races.
Eating soft pretzels at dozens of Orioles games.
Spending Saturday mornings at the farmer’s market.
Figuring out how to cook Thanksgiving dinner.
Long road trips, just the two of us.
It has been a great start to our grand adventure together.

What about having your sisters come to visit you and the guy at the pool and Wes throwing an acorn at my head!
We will all just have to take a trip back there.

I love your photos, it makes me wish I was feeling good and looking at something that beautiful. I hope we can make some good memories while in DC!

I just remembered another one! When Marcie fell in front of the botanical gardens! That was pretty hilarious
