In just a few weeks DC will be in bloom. The tidal basin will be surrounded by pretty, pale pink cherry blossoms. When the blooms reach their peak, Jared and I are going to hop on our bikes early in the morning, before the sun is up, and pedal our way into DC. Our plan is to wake up before most of the tourists so we can have the cherry blossoms all to ourselves. It is bittersweet knowing that this will be our last spring in DC. I will miss riding my bike along the Potomac, watching the sail boats and crew teams chugging along, admiring the Washington Monument standing tall in the distance. The time really has flown by. As much as I resisted in the beginning, DC has started to feel like home. I sometimes have to catch my breath as I walk down the street, just steps away from the White House thinking, wow, I actually live here. Me. A timid little girl from Utah, making it in the big city. It has been a wild adventure. In just a few months we will be moving on to our next wild adventure and I can’t help but feel excited, scared, happy and sad all at the same time.P.S. This is post 100 for me. Sweet.

Congrats on your 100th post baby!
You make me want to bike along the river under cherry blossoms! Congrats on 100 posts! I hope I can do that many :)
You will love your next adventure!!!
Since your next adventure will include sunshine, sand and closer proximity to the mountains I'm sure you will love it and your family will too.
Jamma! You go girl! 100 Posts. Ha ha. I can't wait to come out and see what you have been experiencing for the past 3 years.
It gets in your blood Jamie. You keep moving and it will be hard to stay in one place for more than two or three years! It's hard on those you leave behind because their lives just march on as usual, only without you, so it's a little bit sadder. But YOU...you get to experience so many new things and make wonderful new friends...you will dwell less and less on home. It does get easier, but I have to admit, every time we came home I would cry on the plane as we flew over Salt Lake! There's just something about coming home! :) Won't it be nice to be closer though?? Woo hoo!
