Things don’t usually work out according to plan. The crummy economy, war, greed and sad stories on the news work hard at getting me down. I am thankful that in times like these I can recieve comfort from a strong testimony that I’m being watched over and that there’s a plan for me. Having the DC temple nearby is also a great blessing. Going there brings me peace and helps me reflect on what’s really important. When plans change and expectations fall short, I try to remember the following Neil A. Maxwell quote: “In times of darkness remember there is a difference between passing local cloud cover and general darkness.” So I have some passing local cloud cover? That’s ok. This too shall pass. I just need to be faithful, pray always and do the best I can.
