Welcome, December.
December made it here in a hurry. Thanksgiving is over, now it’s back to the daily grind - work. study. commute. sleep. This month will be a busy one with shopping, baking, admiring twinkling lights, dropping off treats, making cards, snuggling up by the faux fire, and flying across the country. First thing’s first, though. A new tradition - for us at least. Jared and I need to get a Christmas tree. We’ve never set one up in our apartment before because we always go back home for Christmas and it has never seemed to be worth the trouble. But this year, even though we will be going to Utah for the holidays, we have decided we need a little extra Christmas spirit. So, this week we will go out in search of an itty bitty, freshly cut Christmas tree, just right for us and our tiny apartment. I can’t wait for the piney aroma to fill up our home and to watch Christmas movies with the lights glistening on the tree. I think it’s just what I need to make it through the first three weeks of December. Then, it will be nice to take a break from work and school and go home where we can light a real crackling fire in my mom and dad’s fireplace, enjoy the company of family and friends, and hopefully make an angel in the freshly fallen snow.
