Prego Report: 31 1/2 Weeks

Apparently I like black and white stripes...

I probably sound like a broken record, but I can’t believe how quickly this pregnancy has flown by. I’m 31 weeks now; the big day is right around the corner. I've been thinking of the many things I need to do to get ready for this little nugget, and I must admit, it can feel a little overwhelming. I am trying to savor the last few weeks of a normal routine, because we all know it’s going to be rocked in every which way soon enough.  

How I’m Feeling: Pretty good, but a bit tired and uncomfortable. It’s amazing how about three pounds of baby can really throw your body off kilter. I’m still an emotional powerhouse (not in a good way), which I’m sure is driving Jared bonkers.  

What I’m Craving: Bubble baths and salad (not together, and maybe not in that order). My love for vinegar seems to be reaching new heights. I NEED it and I want a salad with it every single day.

What’s Keeping Me Up at Night: Wacky dreams about bikes and tattoos. Well, maybe that’s not keeping me up, but the dreams are so real I feel like I’m awake. My hips and lower back seem to hurt most at night, so I’m not getting the quality sleep I’d hope for. Plus, little Pip Squeak is a nighttime wild card. Some nights she sleeps great, and some nights she is up bothering me and making me cry tears of frustration. Ahhh!

How I’m Growing: As you can see, my baby bump ain’t messing around. My short little torso doesn’t give little nugget anywhere to go but straight out. I get a little bit self-conscious about it, but freak, what can you do? I just keep greasing that bump up, hoping that my skin doesn’t get stretched to oblivion!

Anyhow, Jared and I are absolutely excited to meet this little nugget. Piper, probably not so much. When I show her my belly, she says “bye bye, baby” and pulls my shirt down. It’s pretty sad and slightly funny. I’m hoping her hatred for baby brother will change with time, though. Keep your fingers crossed for us.
