Eat.

(Market in London)
I love to watch people eat. Maybe it’s weird, but I really feel like a person’s true colors show when they are eating. My Grandma Fae eats so slowly and gracefully; she makes her food look so luscious. I always want to eat what she is eating. Grandma Fae’s eating style fits perfectly with her personality. Everything she does is slow, deliberate, and graceful. She walks and works slowly but with meaning. She makes the most beautiful cross stitch pieces and can create true works of art with a little string and fabric. My Dad is also fun to watch eat. It is easy to tell he really digs his grub. He smacks his lips and licks his plate clean almost every time. He treats food the way he treats life, enjoying each moment along the way…savoring every last drop. My sister Marcie is a great dining partner. We used to go to the Cinegrill together for lunch when I was living at home and when our food would come we wouldn’t say a single thing - we would just eat. We would converse silently over our salad and pizza, knowing that life doesn’t get much better than lunch at the Cinegrill. I don’t like eating alone and I never like to see people eating alone. Food is so much less enjoyable when there is nobody to share it with. Sometimes when I see a person eating alone, I want to invite that person to sit with me, or maybe just pass them a note on a napkin to say hi and wish them a good meal. Jared tells me that some people probably don’t mind, or maybe even like eating alone but I don’t know how that could be true. Food keeps us alive; I think it’s important to eat with meaning and to take the time to enjoy healthy and tasty meals with family and friends.

That is so true, and I never even thought of it that way.... I wonder if the way I eat displays my way of life? HMMM
