Since I enjoyed the National Arboretum so much on my trip last week, Jared and I decided to go there on our anniversary. The azaleas weren’t quite as vibrant, but it was still a fantastic visit. We discovered a grove featuring all of the state trees, old columns from the Capitol, and a koi pond. The koi fish were incredibly friendly. As we walked up to the pond, they came right over to greet us. It reminded me of my college job at
Cactus and Tropicals. I worked in the outdoor nursery there and the fish in the koi pond would nibble on my fingers when I put my hands in the water. It was strange, but neat.

Back to our anniversary… After our lovely morning at the National Arboretum, we had a delicious dinner at Morton’s Steakhouse. I had the surf and turf and Jared had a Cajun style steak. We both felt really fat after dinner, so we decided to go home and rent a movie. We picked up
Last Chance Harvey (the pickins were slim). It ended up being a pretty ok show – I’d give it a 6.5 out of 10. Much better than
Bride Wars, I can tell you that with confidence.

( Jared wanted to showcase his impressive right bicep in this photo).

Now we are back to reality. Jared is studying for his LAST law school exam (he takes it tomorrow). I didn’t think this day would ever come. We are both so excited. I am proud of Jared and his studious ways. He is a true class act
1. In a few days our family will be rolling in for graduation festivities. I can’t wait to get the party started!

Footnotes:
1.I mean class act in a
good way – not like when people say it when somebody is obnoxious or rude. Jared is a class act in the traditional sense.

Bride Wars was truly a waste of my hard earned money. I'm excited to go to the arboretum and everywhere else you decide to take us.
