Prego Report: 29 Weeks

29 weeks down, 11 to go. I am getting more and more excited to meet our little nugget, and more and more nervous about the weight of responsibility I’ll soon be taking on. I am thinking I’ll have to convince my mom to move out here for a while until I get the hang of things. I’m sure my dad and siblings wouldn’t survive without her, though. Anyone have a good plan B?

How I’m Feeling: Tired and emotional. I am not getting great sleep at night because of my aching hips, and I’m starting to feel the burn. I seem to tear up easier than usual and I tend to get frustrated by silly things. I’m sure Jared loves hanging out with me these days! Poor guy.

What I’m Craving: If you offered me a banana split right now, I’d be your best friend. I could also go for a coke (horrible, I know) and a big salad doused in vinegar.

What’s Keeping Me Up at Night: My aching hips (have I told you about my aching hips?). Good thing I have lots of Teen Mom 2 recorded on the DVR to keep me company in the wee hours. Let me tell you, there’s nothing more depressing than watching Teen Mom 2 at 3am.

How I’m Growing: I’m growing all right. It looks like I swallowed a basketball. This belly of mine just doesn’t quit. While in St. George for my Great Aunt’s funeral I had two people tell me that I looked like I was about to pop (both men, of course). It made me feel really great…NOT. This baby’s got two and a half months of gestation left. That leaves time for a lot of growing. I’m on track to gain a decent amount of weight, too. So, that’s lots of fun… Guess I better resist that banana split that’s tempting me.

Well, I hope you enjoyed hearing me complain. Sorry about that. Let’s end on a positive note – I am truly thankful for this little guy on the way, and incredibly grateful that my body can work such miracles. I know that the weight gain, mood swings, and lack of sleep will all be worth it, because pretty soon we will have an angel straight from heaven in our home, and there’s no greater blessing than that.
