Looks like it’s time for another prego report. Things still seem to be moving along at lightning speed – just three months until this little nugget rocks our world! Here’s life at 27 weeks:
How I’m Feeling: I’m feeling pretty good. As you know, the lack of sleep due to my aching hips, a very active nugget in my belly, and little Pip Squeak being up in the night is getting to me. Other than that I’m trucking along. Physically things are good, but my Great Aunt passed away last night, leaving me feeling pretty blue. Growing up, my siblings and I spent many summer weekends going for dune buggy rides and playing in the club house at her cabin. She made a mean deviled egg (paprika and all), played a great hand of cards, and was a kind, gentle woman who always went out of her way to make us kids feel special. It is hard to see her go, but I am comforted to know that she’s enjoying a wonderful reunion with her husband, son and other loved ones in heaven.
What I’m Craving: I’m mostly over the hot dog thing, thank goodness. This week I’m craving salad with vinegar like no other. Last time I went grocery shopping, the cashier at Trader Joe’s told me that it looked like I had a veggie patch growing in my shopping cart with all of the lettuce in there. Trust me, Piper and I happily ate it all!
What’s Keeping Me Up at Night: The usual worries and insecurities have been occupying my mind lately. I know I just need to have faith that everything will work out and that Piper will adjust alright to the role of big sister. I’m trying to really enjoy our last few months as the three amigos, but also eagerly anticipating being a family of four.
How I’m Growing: At this point, my belly is still bigger than last time around, but the rate of expansion seems to be balancing out. I haven’t gained much weight this month – just about two pounds (probably from lugging Piper everywhere and all of the salads with vinegar). I am positive I’ll make up for it in the coming weeks, though.
