Christmas trees and tasty cookies.

Last night I went to a ladies only Christmas party, leaving Jared to hang with Piper. It seems as though my man candy and baby girl had lots of fun - the two rascals went and saw the Christmas tree at Fashion Island without me! Jared sent me some pictures of their adventure via text message, and I have to say it made me want to bolt right out of that darned Christmas party to be with them.
Apparently, Piper went nuts over the Christmas tree. I mean, look at that face - she’s just a little bundle of Christmas cheer.

Anyway, back to the ladies only party. We had the most delectable chocolate chunk cookies and I was able to snag a recipe, so I thought I’d share:

Donna’s Chocolate Chunk Cookies

1 C oats
2 ¼ C flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda

Mix ingredients above in a food processor; place in a large mixing bowl.
In a separate bowl, mix the following ingredients with a beater:

2 cubes room temp butter
2 eggs
½ C dark brown sugar
1 ¼ C light brown sugar

Slowly combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients.
Next, add the following ingredients with a fork:

1 C shredded coconut
1 C walnuts
14 oz chocolate chunks

Scoop dough into balls, place on cookie sheet and chill for 45 minutes.
Bake cookies at 350 degrees for 13 minutes.

I can’t wait to whip up a batch of these babies - I even went to the store today and picked up all of the ingredients. They really were so so good. Merry cookie making!
