The transition from DC back to Utah has been a tad more difficult than I ever imagined. I don’t really have any structure to my life right now. No job, no place of my own, no real life. I am far enough away from my sisters that I only see them about once a week and my handsome husband is a busy tiger studying for the bar. I know, poor me. I should throw a pity party. I could invite all of the other pitiful souls in Utah Valley and we could hang out and feel sorry for ourselves. Fun.

Fortunately, there is one thing keeping me from following through on having a great big pity party: the local golf course. Jared and I go once or twice a week and practice our skills. I am nowhere near being a Tiger, but I love golfing all the same. It is especially wonderful when surrounded by mountains, with deer running across the fairway. After a grueling nine holes, we usually go to the Daily Freeze for fresh cherry lime sodas. That’s one thing I love about small towns – they always seem to have spectacular treats at the local burger joint.

So, for now, I think I’ll make it. My type A side needs to take a break. It’s time to enjoy the freedom that comes with being a summertime bum.

Are the deer a frequent occurance?
You look HOT swinging the golf club. You really need to take advantage of being a summer bum. I wish I was!!!
