Playing catch up.

Keeping up with the blog has proven to be a challenge with two little critters crawling around. It feels like my days are just melting into one another, and everything is a bit of a blur. The kids pretty much keep me up all night and I'm basically a walking zombie. Good thing zombies are all the rage right now. 

Zombie or not, I'm determined to catch up on what we've been up to. So here it goes...

We celebrated Jared's 38th birthday last week. Oh how we love our Jared! Piper is obsessed with birthday cakes and blowing out candles, so she got us all pretty pumped up for the party. We went to Disneyland to celebrate and it was all lit up for the holidays. There was also a fireworks show, so it capped off our night perfectly! Piper thought that Tinker Bell was making all of the fireworks happen, so she's now obsessed with fireworks and she asks us several times a day to look the Christmas fireworks show up on you tube.  P.S. Isn't Micah's expression in the birthday photo just awesome? That kid. 

Another noteworthy event of late was Piper's first pony ride. She had so much fun on that little horse! I was quite shocked that she was so excited about it. She normally is a bit timid about these sorts of things. It might be that we have a future rodeo queen on our hands. Piper is such a funny girl these days. She's starting to talk a lot and she is really coming out of her shell. She loves cuckoo clocks, going to the movies (she calls them boobies), Disneyland, the beach, kitty cats, the neighbor's dog Beans, and Christmas trees.

And then there's Micah! Our little man turned six months on us and we are absolutely in love with him. He is the happiest little guy and the most wonderful addition to our family. He isn't a great sleeper, and that's frustrating. I'm hoping we can get him on track without any tears. I, for one am in desperate need of some rest, but I just can't bear to let my buddy cry.  At six months, Micah is sitting up like a pro. He is also army crawling all over the place. He is determined to be involved in whatever his big sister is doing, whether she likes it or not.  He will eat pretty much anything I give him at this point, but he doesn't want to eat very much at one sitting. His favorite foods seem to be squash and peas. He loves early morning walks and bubble baths.  He really is the sweetest little guy and we are glad he's ours.
