When I was pregnant people loved to tell me how hard my life was going to be once the babe arrived. It was frustrating. I wanted to hear about the joys of parenthood, not the fact that I wasn’t going to be able to pay $11 to go see a movie at the theater for a while. Everyone was right. Parenthood is hard. Just ask Jared…he’s been peed and pooped on several times already. I think Piper is really trying to get his goat!Honestly though, being shot at by a urine firing squad isn’t so bad when you have the most precious gift in the whole world. My heart melts every time I look at little Piper. It’s obvious she came to us straight from heaven. The exhaustion doesn’t seem so bad when she wraps her little fingers around mine, or when she yawns real big, or lets a little sneeze. The pain and discomfort subsides when she looks at me with her big baby eyes, or when she sticks out her tongue, trying to figure it all out. Piper makes it all worth while.
We are falling more in love with this little gal every day.

You're absolutley right! But I could certainly do with a lot less doo-doo. Especially all over my arm. And face. And hair. And shoes. And sheets. And....
It is all worth all of the pooh and pee to watch these amazing little creatures grow and learn!
What a sweet post! Isn't it the truth though. I love being a mom, it is the most tiring yet rewarding job in the world. You guys are going to be great little parents. Piper is a lucky gal!
Jamie and Jared, parenthood is awesome. As I "look back" now, perhaps I didn't really enjoy all of those precious moments. Sure there are hard times, but focus on the marvelous miracle and the eternal implications. Love Nina
You just really don't understand the "connection" to a baby until you have you're own do you? Isn't it awesome?
She's so adorable! Perfect! Welcome to parenthood! Can't wait to meet her!
